Case study for Cornwall: a transition pathway for energy systems and natural resource use

Some of you may know Tamsyn Widdon, an ex Green councillor who has kindly allowed me to publish a short piece of work ‘Cornwall pathway to a just transition’.

The broad finding of her research (see PDF document below) is that there has been an undue focus on carbon reduction at the expense of other ecosystem services to do with  climate stability, soil health, and marine integrity. Moreover the pursuit of ‘green growth’ still requires significant materials and energy throughput that are unsustainable in the long term.

The second part of her paper sets out recommendations for a just energy transition in Cornwall.
